Talking about death is often difficult. Yet a death in the family may create problems for survivors, which can be alleviated by discussions and pre-arranging.

Pre-arranging your funeral allows you to secure specific details of your funeral service such as, what type of service, casket and vault selection, church preferences, cemetery arrangements, and whom to notify, just to name a few.  Important obituary information will be recorded and a record of your selections and information will be kept on file at the funeral home until needed.

Pre-Arrangement Options

  • Pre-funding is the process of paying for your funeral ahead of time either in a lump sum or by monthly payments (which can be arranged to fit your budget).  Our insurance plans are underwritten by the Loyal Christian Benefit Association, headquartered in Erie, PA.  Our plan provides life insurance benefits that are exempt from federal income tax when paid to a named beneficiary.  Neither the increasing value of the coverage nor the total benefits paid at the time of death are federal income taxable. By pre-funding your funeral service several things can be accomplished (a) You will guarantee the cost of the funeral at today’s prices. (b) Protect your assets from long term health care such as Medicaid (c) Eliminate family conflict and emotional burden at a very stressful time.
  • Existing Life Insurance is the process of using insurance policies which you already have in possession to fund your funeral. These policies can be assigned to the funeral home to protect them from long term health care, but will not guarantee the cost of the funeral. Therefore, if possible, it is advisable to pre-pay your funeral and allow your family to inherit the insurance proceeds.
